In certain cases there may be technology blockers between your premises and the exchange, and these can limit the availability of certain Vintek ADSL service types.
Further service qualification checks will be performed to determine if we can definitely deliver Vintek ADSL to you. These checks will be conducted automatically when you apply for an Vintek ADSL service.
The good news is that there is no risk to you in applying for Vintek ADSL. If we find that we are unable to provision ADSL at your premises, no fees will apply - our policy is "No success, no fee".

What is ADSL?
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, or ADSL, is a technology that provides broadband Internet access over a standard residential or small office telephone line, at speeds that are an order of magnitude faster than the best dialup modem connection. Unlike traditional modem based 'dialup' access, ADSL is an always-on technology, which means that you don't have to wait to connect up - your computer is always 'on the net'.
ADSL operates through your standard telephone line without interrupting your use of the telephone. You can place and receive telephone calls at the same time as you use the Internet. You do not need a second telephone line, and you will never have to 'dial up' again!

- New Install - Choose this option if your service is a brand new DSL service.
- Single Service Transfer - Choose this option if you would like to move your current DSL service that is provided by another internet service provider to a Vintek ADSL2+ service. Please note that this service must be supported by your current ISP. Please contact our Vintek staff if you are not sure.
- Single Service Migration - Choose this option if you would like to move from a Vintek ADSL1 service to a Vintek ADSL2+ service. Please note that your current exchange must support ADSL2+ services.
- Relocation - Choose this option if you require your existing Vintek provided DSL service to be moved to another location.

Important Information
- Personal Easy services which are available at over 140 Agile enabled exchanges across Australia have a minimum speed of 1500/256 Kbps and a maximum speed of 20000/1000 Kbps. Maximum possible speed obtainable depends on the length and quality of your phone line from your telephone exchange as well as the type of ADSL modem you are using. Vintek does not guarantee that customers who select the 20000 Kbps services will be able to obtain the full quoted speed. Customers may also request Annex M to be enabled on their line which boosts the maximum upload speed to 2500 Kbps. Availabiliy of Annex M capability is determined at the time of request.
- Both upload and downloads are counted towards your plan quota.
- A single dynamic IP address is provided.
- There are no excess charges - if you exceed your plan quota we simply shape your speed to 256/256 Kbps for the remainder of your internet month. If you do exceed your quota you can purchase a data block to add additional quota to your plan for that month.
- If you decide to cancel your monthly contract at any time no termination fees will be incurred.
- If you decide to cancel your 24 month contract during the 24 month contract period then an early termination fee will apply. For cancellations made during the first 12 months of the contract the early termination fee is $120.00, reducing to $65.00 for cancellations made during the last 12 months of the contract. Cancellations made after the 24 month contract period incur no termination fees.
- If you plan to move premises you can choose either no relocation fee with a new 24 month contract or a $99.00 relocation fee, with any existing contract term carried across to your new premises.
- Personal Easy services are restricted to a single concurrent login at the location specified during the signup process. A financial penalty of $1.00 per hour per additional login may be applied in the case of concurrent logins.
Other Information
- A 10 hour dialup account is included with each account, with excess hours charged at $1.00 per hour in arrears. Upgrade to 300 hours of dial up access for an extra $10.00 p/month.
- 50MB of personal webspace is included with each account.
- No regional surcharge (Same access prices for any area we cover, metro or regional)
- If service terms and conditions are changed, customers will be permitted to cease using service without penalty if new conditions are not accepted.
- Please be aware that if you are currently in contract with your current supplier you may be charged by them for breaking contract or disconnection fees. Please check this before you apply.
- Account is paid monthly in advance via Credit Card, BPAY, Cheque, Cash, Money Order, etc.

Important Information
- Minimum assured bandwidth of 1500/256 Kbps. Service will be connected to ADSL2+ infrastructure where available with a maximum possible bandwidth of 20000/1000 Kbps. Where this isn't available, the service will be connected to ADSL1 infrastructure with a maximum possible bandwidth of 8000/384 Kbps. Telstra have notified us that the speeds available may be limited to a maximum of 3000 Kbps in some (unspecified) locations, where insufficient backhaul capacity exists to support higher speeds at this time. Maximum possible speed obtainable depends on the length and quality of your phone line from your telephone exchange as well as the type of ADSL modem you are using. Vintek does not guarantee that customers who select the 20000 Kbps services will be able to obtain the full quoted speed.

When applying for ADSL, Vintek will conduct a number of checks to ensure that DSL can be successfully connected to your service number.
These checks include confirmation of:

If you pass this check your ADSL application will be accepted into our system. Once an application has been entered our qualified technicians will carry out steps 2-4 noted above to further check if we can provide you with ADSL.
