Setting up an ADSL connection using a Billion Bipac 74x GE series ADSL modem router
This guide is designed to be used to configure a Vintek ADSL connection on a Billion Bipac 741 GE, 741 GE V2 or 743 GE router

Connect the router to your computer and the telephone line. Then power on the device. Make sure the PWR and SYS lights are lit steadily and that the relevant LAN light is lit.

Click on Start, Programs, Internet Explorer

Type http://192.168.1.254 into the address bar at the top of the screen and press enter on your keyboard

Enter admin as the username and admin as the password in the box that appears then click OK

You will get a status report web page similar to the one below once you have logged in successfully

One the left side of the screen click on Quick Start

For the Encapsulation choose PPPoE

Ensure that the VPI is 8 and the VCI is 35

The IP Address should read 0.0.0.0, and the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway should both be blank

The Primary and Secondary DNS settings should also be blank

Enter your Username in the format of username@adsl.on.net and enter your Password as well

Click on Apply

On the left side of the screen click on Save Config to FLASH

Then click on the Save button

Once the router has finished saving the config, click on the Logout button on the left side of the screen
