Setting up an ADSL connection using a NetComm NB1300 ADSL modem router

If you are connecting the NetComm NB1300 ADSL Modem Router to your computer via USB connection, complete steps 1, 2 & 3.

If you are connecting the Modem Router via an Ethernet LAN (Network) connection, complete steps 1 & 3.

  • Step 1

    • Connect the power adapter to the NB1300 and plug it into the wall socket.

    • Connect one end of the ADSL phone line to the NB1300 and the other end to the wall socket.

    • Connect the USB cable from the NB1300 into a spare USB port on your computer and then switch it on by using the switch at the back.

  • Step 2 (If you are connecting the modem via an Ethernet LAN connection skip to Step 3)

    • Place the CD-Rom provided into your CD-Rom Drive.

    • Windows will detect the new hardware and launch a New Hardware Wizard.

    • When prompted to search for drivers choose Install from a list or Specify Location.

    • Click Next.

      Select Include this location in the search.

    • Click on Browse.

      Browse to the letter of your CD-Rom drive (usually D: ), choose the USB Driver folder and click OK

    • Click Next

      If a box pops up stating that the software has not passed the Windows Logo testing, choose Continue Anyway, as the software will not impair or destabilize your system.

      Click Finish

  • Step 3

    • Click on Start, Programs, Internet Explorer

      Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar at the top of the screen and press Enter on your keyboard

    • Enter in admin as the User Name and password as the Password in the box that appears.

    • Click OK

      The One Page Configuration screen should appear, if not click on One Page Setup under the basic menu on the left.

      As the Service Name enter Vintek.

      Enter your Username in the format of username@adsl.on.net and enter in your password

      Ensure that the WAN Type is PPPoE LLC

      Under VC Settings ensure that Static IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway are blank or 0.0.0.0

      Click Submit

      On the left, click Save Setting And Reboot

      Once you are returned to the One Page Configuration, your internet connection is completed, and you may close the One Page Configuration by clicking on File, Close.
